Surge of BA.5: Biden officials to stay the course with Covid strategy, prep for bivalent boosters in October
President Joe Biden’s top Covid-19 advisers said Tuesday that they aren’t changing up their strategy as the rise of the new Omicron subvariant, BA.5, continues to blanket the country.
While stressing that Americans should stay up-to-date on their booster shots, particularly for those over 50, NIH’s Tony Fauci, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Ashish Jha stressed that those receiving boosters now will not miss out on the Omicron-targeted boosters coming this fall.
