Med­ica­tion abor­tion man­u­fac­tur­er with­draws Mis­sis­sip­pi law­suit

The man­u­fac­tur­er of a gener­ic tablet used in med­ica­tion abor­tions has with­drawn its case against Mis­sis­sip­pi state re­quire­ments that re­strict­ed ac­cess to abor­tions.

Gen­Bio­Pro with­drew its law­suit against Mis­sis­sip­pi’s health of­fi­cer Thomas Dobbs with­out prej­u­dice on Mon­day, mean­ing plain­tiffs can re-file the charges in the fu­ture, ac­cord­ing to Politi­co, which first re­port­ed the news.

“Giv­en the changed na­tion­al land­scape, we have de­cid­ed to ad­just our strat­e­gy and with­draw our ex­ist­ing case in Mis­sis­sip­pi. We are com­mit­ted to us­ing the law to re­move un­nec­es­sary bar­ri­ers for pa­tients and providers and we look for­ward to mak­ing an an­nounce­ment soon about our next steps,” a Gen­Bio­Pro spokesper­son said in an email.
