Medication abortion manufacturer withdraws Mississippi lawsuit
The manufacturer of a generic tablet used in medication abortions has withdrawn its case against Mississippi state requirements that restricted access to abortions.
GenBioPro withdrew its lawsuit against Mississippi’s health officer Thomas Dobbs without prejudice on Monday, meaning plaintiffs can re-file the charges in the future, according to Politico, which first reported the news.
“Given the changed national landscape, we have decided to adjust our strategy and withdraw our existing case in Mississippi. We are committed to using the law to remove unnecessary barriers for patients and providers and we look forward to making an announcement soon about our next steps,” a GenBioPro spokesperson said in an email.
