Take­da lay­ing off more than 180 work­ers in Mass­a­chu­setts

Take­da plans to lay off more than 180 work­ers in Mass­a­chu­setts, ac­cord­ing to WARN no­tices pub­lished last week.

The fil­ing in­di­cates that the lay­offs are oc­cur­ring at sev­er­al lo­ca­tions through­out the state, and the biggest cut is in Cam­bridge, MA, at Take­da De­vel­op­ment Cen­ters Amer­i­ca, where up to 138 peo­ple could be laid off be­tween Ju­ly and March of next year.

The com­pa­ny al­so plans to lay off five em­ploy­ees at a “Take­da – Shire Hu­man Ge­net­ic Ther­a­pies Inc” site in Cam­bridge and one at a site with the same name in North Read­ing, MA. An­oth­er ge­net­ic ther­a­pies site in Lex­ing­ton, MA, could lose up to 42 em­ploy­ees.
