Takeda laying off more than 180 workers in Massachusetts
Takeda plans to lay off more than 180 workers in Massachusetts, according to WARN notices published last week.
The filing indicates that the layoffs are occurring at several locations throughout the state, and the biggest cut is in Cambridge, MA, at Takeda Development Centers America, where up to 138 people could be laid off between July and March of next year.
The company also plans to lay off five employees at a “Takeda – Shire Human Genetic Therapies Inc” site in Cambridge and one at a site with the same name in North Reading, MA. Another genetic therapies site in Lexington, MA, could lose up to 42 employees.
