Thermo Fisher to make another round of layoffs in San Diego
Manufacturer Thermo Fisher will be making more layoffs in Southern California.
According to a WARN report from California’s Employment Development Department, Thermo Fisher will lay off a total of 218 employees at three of its locations in San Diego, CA. The layoffs are due to reduced demand for its Covid-19 products, a Thermo Fisher spokesperson said in an email to Endpoints News. The three facilities will close in June of this year, but will, in the meantime, continue providing product support for its Covid product, known as the Accula system, through the expiration date on product packages, the spokesperson said.
