Track­ing men­tal health: Lund­beck part­ner­ship de­buts US map­ping dash­board tool

While the twindem­ic of Covid-19 and in­fluen­za nev­er re­al­ly ma­te­ri­al­ized, a dif­fer­ent dou­ble cri­sis did. Men­tal health is­sues have boomed along­side Covid cas­es dur­ing the pan­dem­ic – de­pres­sion tripled among US adults, for in­stance, and con­tin­ues to wors­en, ac­cord­ing to a Boston Uni­ver­si­ty study.

Now Lund­beck and part­ner Men­tal Health Amer­i­ca (MHA) are de­but­ing a na­tion­al data­base of men­tal health is­sues to quan­ti­fy needs by ge­o­graph­ic area and spe­cif­ic men­tal health con­di­tion. The pub­licly avail­able dash­board breaks down sui­ci­dal ideation, se­vere de­pres­sion, trau­ma and psy­chosis for every state in the US and is search­able down to coun­ty lev­els.
