Uptick in FDA ad­comms com­ing in 2023 as CDER hir­ing picks up, Cavaz­zoni says

The FDA has strug­gled to hire and re­tain staff in re­cent years as in­dus­try salaries have lured away FDAers, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the up­per ech­e­lons of its lead­er­ship.

But the agency has made some se­ri­ous head­way as of late, as new user fee funds come in­to play thanks to the lat­est con­gres­sion­al reau­tho­riza­tions of PDU­FA and the oth­er user fee deals, CDER Di­rec­tor Pa­trizia Cavaz­zoni said in an Al­liance for a Stronger FDA we­bi­nar on Wednes­day.
