Up­dat­ed: Ven­ture cap­i­tal firm Gen­er­al Cat­a­lyst is buy­ing an Ohio-based health sys­tem

It’s of­fi­cial: Gen­er­al Cat­a­lyst is about to be­come the own­er of a health sys­tem with 1,000 in­pa­tient beds, a two-hos­pi­tal health­care sys­tem and out­pa­tient cen­ters across north­east Ohio.

On Wednes­day, the VC firm’s Health As­sur­ance Trans­for­ma­tion Cor­po­ra­tion (HAT­Co) said it had signed a let­ter of in­tent to ac­quire Akron, OH-based Sum­ma Health.
