Ver­i­ly’s chief med­ical of­fi­cer Amy Aber­nethy is step­ping down

Ver­i­ly’s chief med­ical of­fi­cer and pres­i­dent of prod­uct de­vel­op­ment Amy Aber­nethy is leav­ing the com­pa­ny to build a health­care non­prof­it, the com­pa­ny told em­ploy­ees Tues­day morn­ing.

It’s the lat­est lead­er­ship shuf­fle at the eight-year-old com­pa­ny, which start­ed out as tech gi­ant Al­pha­bet’s life sci­ences arm. Ver­i­ly in Jan­u­ary named its for­mer pres­i­dent Stephen Gillett as CEO and laid off 15% of its work­force.
