'We beat big phar­ma': Biden ap­plauds IRA, calls for ex­pan­sion of Medicare ne­go­ti­a­tions

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden re­newed his pro­pos­al to ex­pand drug price ne­go­ti­a­tions un­der the In­fla­tion Re­duc­tion Act on Wednes­day, ar­gu­ing that “we should be more ag­gres­sive.”

In re­marks at the White House, the pres­i­dent tout­ed the IRA as a win against “big phar­ma” and con­gres­sion­al Re­pub­li­cans who vot­ed unan­i­mous­ly against the leg­is­la­tion. He al­so ap­plaud­ed in­creased FTC scruti­ny of “abu­sive patent list­ings for in­halers and oth­er com­mon prod­ucts like EpiPens,” and promised to “make Roe v. Wade the law of the land again.”
