One of Amer­i­ca’s largest gro­cery stores thinks it can make con­sumers more fo­cused on pre­ven­tive health­care.

Cincin­nati-based Kroger, which owns 2,721 stores and op­er­ates 2,255 phar­ma­cies, has been bet­ting its po­si­tion as a gro­cery store and one of the biggest phar­ma­cy chains in the US and will build its health busi­ness based on pre­scrib­ing food as med­i­cine.
