
With FDA nods and third-shot OKs, Moderna and Pfizer boost vaccine ads – and booster messages
Now that both the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccines are FDA-approved, each also has the go-ahead to advertise their shots. While the focus was initially on simply encouraging vaccinations, Moderna and Pfizer now also have an eye on the potentially huge booster shot market in the US.
Both companies are expected to make billions in booster sales, but with the mix-and-match approach OK’d by the FDA and a choice of either booster shot, marketing may work to convince consumers one way or the other.
