WuXi AppTec, WuXi Bi­o­log­ics con­tin­ue to build out US pres­ence de­spite po­lit­i­cal ten­sions 

WuXi AppTec and its sis­ter com­pa­ny WuXi Bi­o­log­ics have re­it­er­at­ed they are grow­ing their North Amer­i­can foot­print, de­spite pres­sure from Con­gress to try to re­strict their busi­ness in the US.

“As of now, we’re not mak­ing any changes. Mean­while we’ll close­ly mon­i­tor the sit­u­a­tion and fur­ther eval­u­ate as we move for­ward,” a WuXi AppTec spokesper­son told End­points News in an email.

WuXi Bio de­clined to com­ment fur­ther, but di­rect­ed End­points to its orig­i­nal state­ment on Feb. 4 in re­sponse to the draft leg­is­la­tion: “The busi­ness op­er­a­tion re­mains sound and con­tin­ues to progress ac­cord­ing to its an­nu­al and medi­um-term strate­gic plans.”
