WuXi builds out lob­by­ing bench amid leg­isla­tive ef­fort to black­list com­pa­ny

WuXi AppTec is en­list­ing more lob­by­ists to rep­re­sent its in­ter­ests be­fore Con­gress, where Chi­na hawks have pushed for lim­its on how the com­pa­ny works with US biotech and phar­ma com­pa­nies.

Ac­cord­ing to a fed­er­al lob­by­ing dis­clo­sure dat­ed March 11, WuXi last month hired Alexan­der Lurie, a for­mer chief of staff to Sen. Deb­bie Stabenow (D-MI), and John Rus­sell, a for­mer deputy chief of staff to for­mer Speak­er of the House Den­nis Hastert (R-IL).
