Gates Foun­da­tion, UK gov­ern­ment back CARB-X, boost an­tibi­otics fund­ing past $500M

→ The Bill and Melin­da Gates Foun­da­tion has joined with the UK gov­ern­ment to back CARB-X, a pub­lic pri­vate part­ner­ship that aims to sup­port small biotechs de­vel­op­ing new vac­cines and an­tibi­otics for the grow­ing num­ber of cas­es of drug re­sis­tance. The Gates Foun­da­tion is adding $25 mil­lion with the British gov­ern­ment adding up to $27 mil­lion more. CARB-X now has more than $500 mil­lion to work with.
