Af­ter record-break­ing de­mand for in­jecta­bles, BD to ex­pand in Spain with $200M Zaragoza plant

Fol­low­ing the in­crease in vac­ci­na­tions doled out in the last year, New Jer­sey-based BD is dou­bling down on de­mand for in­jecta­bles and putting its faith in its Span­ish op­er­a­tions.

BD will be­gin con­struc­tion of a $200 mil­lion man­u­fac­tur­ing fa­cil­i­ty in Zaragoza that will pro­duce drug de­liv­ery de­vices for vac­cines and bi­o­log­ics, the com­pa­ny an­nounced this week. That plant will be the com­pa­ny’s fourth in the coun­try and rep­re­sent part of the $1.2 bil­lion sup­ply chain in­vest­ment the com­pa­ny has pledged to make over the next four years.
