Covid-19 roundup: Take­da preps roll­out of No­vavax shot for next year — re­port; G20 tar­gets 70% world vac­ci­na­tion rate by mid-2022

A cou­ple days af­ter No­vavax filed for au­tho­riza­tion of its Covid-19 vac­cine in the UK, the com­pa­ny is re­port­ed­ly plot­ting a Japan­ese roll­out some­time next year.

Take­da, No­vavax’s part­ner in Japan, is prepar­ing to seek au­tho­riza­tion for the vac­cine in Japan in ear­ly 2022, the com­pa­ny’s CEO Christophe We­ber told Reuters

“We will need to as­sess whether the pack­age that has been filed in the UK, for ex­am­ple, will sat­is­fy the Japan­ese au­thor­i­ties,” he said, per Reuters, adding that he ex­pects the shots will be ready by the be­gin­ning of the new year.
