Fol­low­ing stu­dent and fac­ul­ty protests, David Saba­ti­ni with­draws from NYU job con­sid­er­a­tion

Af­ter hun­dreds of NYU stu­dents and fac­ul­ty staged a walk­out in protest of his po­ten­tial hire, David Saba­ti­ni has with­drawn his name from con­sid­er­a­tion for the job, End­points News has learned.

Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment sent by Saba­ti­ni’s cri­sis com­mu­ni­ca­tions ad­vi­sor, the for­mer MIT pro­fes­sor is re­mov­ing him­self in or­der to “not dis­tract” from the NYU med­ical school mis­sion. Re­ports first emerged that NYU was con­sid­er­ing hir­ing Saba­ti­ni last week.
