MIT’s star tech guru Joi Ito resigns biotech chair post in wake of Jeffrey Epstein scandal
After evidence emerged over the last few days that MIT Media Lab’s rock star leader Joi Ito had been in the habit of soliciting cash for his research group as well as his own investment funds from notorious Jeffrey Epstein — after the financier had been jailed for his conviction on sexually abusing young girls — it didn’t take long before Ito quickly resigned from the post. And hours later came news that Ito was also bowing out as chairman of PureTech, a Boston-based biotech with a yen for high-profile board members.
