PerkinElmer life sci­ence and di­ag­nos­tics spin­off re­veals new name and brand iden­ti­ty

The PerkinElmer life sci­ence and di­ag­nos­tic busi­ness split out in March is now rolling out its new com­pa­ny name and look. Called Revvi­ty, the new name com­bines the syl­la­bles “rev” for rev­o­lu­tion­ize and “vit” for vi­ta, which means life in Latin.

Revvi­ty was born out of PerkinElmer’s sale of its ap­plied sci­ence, food and en­ter­prise ser­vices busi­ness­es to pri­vate eq­ui­ty firm New Moun­tain Cap­i­tal in a $2.45 bil­lion deal an­nounced in Au­gust. In March, when the deal closed, the com­pa­nies said the an­a­lyt­i­cal and en­ter­prise so­lu­tions com­pa­ny would con­tin­ue as PerkinElmer, while the life sci­ence and di­ag­nos­tics com­pa­ny would get a new name and tick­er sym­bol af­ter share­hold­er ap­proval — to­day re­vealed as Revvi­ty.
