PerkinElmer life science and diagnostics spinoff reveals new name and brand identity
The PerkinElmer life science and diagnostic business split out in March is now rolling out its new company name and look. Called Revvity, the new name combines the syllables “rev” for revolutionize and “vit” for vita, which means life in Latin.
Revvity was born out of PerkinElmer’s sale of its applied science, food and enterprise services businesses to private equity firm New Mountain Capital in a $2.45 billion deal announced in August. In March, when the deal closed, the companies said the analytical and enterprise solutions company would continue as PerkinElmer, while the life science and diagnostics company would get a new name and ticker symbol after shareholder approval — today revealed as Revvity.
