Phar­ma in­dus­try spent a record $389M on US lob­by­ing in 2021, but more is like­ly com­ing this year — re­port

Even though phar­ma lob­by­ists spent at his­toric lev­els in 2021, more records might be bro­ken this year if trends con­tin­ue, a new re­port says.

Mon­ey and pol­i­tics watch­dog OpenSe­crets broke down the flow of mon­ey last week in fed­er­al and state lob­by­ing ef­forts from 2021. Up­on nar­row­ing down some of the ma­jor play­ers and in­dus­tries in­volved, the re­port found that the phar­ma in­dus­try and the health sec­tor it­self has been spend­ing a sub­stan­tial amount of the to­tal.
