Turkey loses bid at WTO demanding all foreign pharma companies make drugs locally

The EU has prevailed in a trade dispute with Turkey over whether pharma companies should be required to make their drugs in Turkey, according to a World Trade Organization statement on Monday.

Back in 2017, the Turkish government initiated a program that called for delisting imported drugs from its reimbursement list if they are not produced locally, and it provides preferential reimbursement for domestic products, according to a PhRMA report from late last year.
