One year later, US Trade Representative still supports an IP waiver for Covid-19 vaccines

It’s been almost one year since the Biden administration first declared its controversial support for waiving IP protections for Covid-19 vaccines at the World Trade Organization, and there’s been little consensus on how and when that waiver might come to fruition.

Despite the lack of progress, the Office of the US Trade Representative on Wednesday reiterated the administration’s support for the waiver as part of its latest special report on IP protection and enforcement worldwide.
